To The Happy Couple | From Your Sister
Hello everyone. I’m Sam’s older sister, Misty.
It probably goes without saying, but I’ve known Sam for a long time, you know, ever since she was born. I wish I could say it was love at first sight, but I had been an only child for almost 8 years and I wasn’t really looking to share the spotlight. But here she came, into the world in a blaze of light and glory, and everyone was smitten. So tiny and beautiful and perfect; how could they not be.
I turned 8 three months after Sam was born. I had a bunch of friends over for my birthday party and I was so excited! Until, they arrived and I realized all they wanted to do was watch baby Sam be adorable in her frilly bassinet. I thought, “well, there goes my spotlight.”

What 8 year old me didn’t know yet, was that having you for a sister would be one of the best gifts life would ever give me-a million times better than any imagined spotlight.
Though people have (hopefully) stopped gathering to watch her sleep adorably, everyone is still drawn to her slightly sarcastic but wonderfully humorous and magnetic personality.
Sam, you are so courageous, creative, inspiring, and epically hilarious. I’m so proud of you for never giving up, for putting yourself out there even when you struggle with feeling inferior, for staying positive while overcoming challenges, and for fighting for what you really want.
You are the best mom to your kiddos, the best cook, the best craft maker, the best joke teller, and the best friend this lady could ever have.
It seems weird to me, but I’ve actually known Brandon longer than I’ve known my own sister. That home video of me at Brandon’s 2nd birthday party is pretty entertaining!
While I’ve known him for a long time, it wasn’t until he and Sam got together that I was able to see what an amazing human being he is.

Brandon, you are so accepting, creative, knowledgeable, joyful, and admirable. I’m so thankful that you work hard, that you make selfless choices, and that you love my sister and make her laugh.
I love that you have been “Uncle Brando” in our house for years, that you already call me your sister, and that you are officially joining our family.
Brandon and Sam, we-your friends and family, are the fortunate ones. Lucky that each of you took your wit, compassion, humor, and love and combined it to double our joy.
The world is a better place because the two of you have joined forces to raise the next generation, to educate the masses about superheroes and eccentric music, and to prove that love conquers all.

Wishing you a lifetime of love and joy, for all your wishes to come true, and a life of ease and abundance.
Ed Sheeran said it best, “this is the start of something beautiful.”
Cheers!
